Flood Warning For Forest Row, East Sussex 28th July 2014

The Environment agency has issues a flood warning for Forest Row in East Sussex this morning, stating that the Kidbrooke at Forest Row is expected to respond rapidly to ongoing heavy rain.

Residents in the local area are advised to clear any obstructions in the watercourse they are responsible for, and install their flood protection devices now.

A flood warning is one step up from a flood alert, and means 'Flooding is expected. Immediate action required'.

The South East has been hit by thunderstorms and prolonged heavy downpours this morning, causing localised surface flooding. Worst affected ave been Worthing, Brighton and parts of West London. The Met office have a Yellow severe weather warning in place and parts of the South East have seen in excess of 30mm of rain.

Although rain has now stopped for most of the South East, more heavy downpours and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and this evening.

The AA and Sussex police have warned motorists to be extra careful and to avoid driving through food water.
