  • River levels dangerously high in York, and set to rise further
  • 3 flood warnings issues by the Environment Agency
  • Riverside properties at risk of flooding

The Environment Agency has issued 3 flood warnings, meaning 'Flooding is expected. Immediate action required' for the River Ouse in Yorkshire, as recent rainfall in the upper catchments causes river levels to rise.

Water levels at York are already at a very high 3.1 metres, and the river has burst it's banks already in some areas. Water levels are expected to rise further to 3.4 metres by 8pm tonight.

The 3 areas affected by these flood warnings are...

  • River Ouse at York - St Georges Field
  • River Ouse at York - riverside properties
  • River Ouse at Naburn Lock

Recent pictures posted to Twitter show the already dangerously high water levels in York. If water levels continue to rise as expected, there is significant risk of flooding.
