Walkers Nurseries is a family run business established in 1951, with over 60 years experience in providing quality service, plants, goods, advice and experience to the disconcerting gardener. More than just a garden center, Walkers Nurseries hosts a wonderful new gift shop, a Food to go counter, the Garden Restaurant and over 12 acres of beautiful show gardens to stroll around.
The garden center stocks shrubs, flowers, bedding plants, alpines, conifers, roses and grasses. In essence plants of all colours, shapes and sizes. We also stock a wide variety of garden equipment, pots, compost, seeds, chemicals, wildlife products, garden furniture, everything that a gardener could want or need.
We are very proud of our new 500m² retail gift outlet which opened in March 2013. We stock cards, gift wrap, books, kitchen equipment, textiles, garden sundries, giftware and artificial flowers. We are stockists of popular brands such as Yankee Candle, Sophie Allport, Burgon and Ball, Orla Keily, Dcuk and Gruffalo children’s ware. We pride ourselves on offering our customers a wide range of products perfect for any occasion.
At the same time of opening our retail outlet, our exciting Food to go food counter opened. We sell freshly prepared on site food, from locally sourced ingredients, which include cakes, pies, sausage rolls and scones. We also have a deli counter, where we sell locally sourced produce, preserves, cheese, chutneys, sweet and eggs, to name a few.
Our customers can enjoy a relaxing pot of tea and cake or a wonderful hot and tasty meal in our Garden Restaurant. This beautiful licensed restaurant has the capacity for 80 covers inside and 75 outside.
Following a visit to our garden center, shop and restaurant, visitors can take a relaxing stroll around our beautiful 8 acre show gardens. The gardens are simply stunning whatever time of year they are visited, be it covered in snow in the winter or full of bright colour with the Rhododendrons in Spring.
In addition we have ample free parking for coaches and cars, disabled facilities, including two wheelchairs which are available on request for customers to use and baby changing facilities.
With excellent connections to the A1 and M18 motorways, Walkers Nurseries is an excellent choice for a day out or a few hours restful break and we look forward to welcoming you to the Nurseries.
