An area of high pressure will bring more settled conditions to the UK by the weekend.

With schools closed for the Easter holidays, and millions of people getting ready to enjoy a long weekend off work, we take a look at the forecast for the 2015 Easter Weekend.

It's good new for this of you who are planning to get out and about this weekend, as an area of high pressure brings more settled weather to the UK by Saturday, and even the possibility of some good periods of sunshine in places.

Good Friday (Friday 3rd April)

Much of the country will start off quire mild, but with some quite heavy showers locally. Most of the country will see some rain in the early hours of Good Friday. The North of England and Scotland, where skies are clearer may see temperatures as low as freezing in the early hours.

Heavy rain will persist through the morning, eventually clearing to the south east by early afternoon, leaving more scattered showers, particularly in the east of England. Areas most likely to see some bright spells on Friday are Wales and Northern Ireland, as an area of high pressure begins to move in from the West.

Temperatures on Friday are likely to reach 8c - 9c in the north, and 10c - 12c on the south.

Saturday the 4th of April

Possibly a wet start for East Anglia and the South East on Saturday morning. Elsewhere it will remain largely cloudy, but as an area of high pressure moves in from the west, temperatures will begin to climb a little, with more areas reaching double figures by the afternoon.

Easter Sunday (Sunday the 5th April)

Still a lot of cloud about on Sunday, but a chance of bright spells in Scotland and the south. With the weather still influenced by an area of high pressure, we should see most parts of the UK reach double figures, with the south east reaching about 13c - 14c by early afternoon.

Easter Monday (Monday the 6th April)

A very similar picture on Monday. A few places may see some bright periods, but still a great deal of cloud around, buy dry and mild, with temperatures reaching 14c in the south.
