Bali Handara Golf & Country Club Resort opened in 1975 as Bali’s first Golf & Country Club Resort and was voted by Golf Magazine as “One of the 50 Greatest Golf Courses in the World”. Golfers from all corners of the world travel to Bali Handara every year to play at Bali’s first and most iconic world-class golf course.

This 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course opened was masterfully designed by five times British Open Champion Peter Thompson, Michael Wolveridge and Ronald Fream.

The Resort is located in the central highlands of Bali at an altitude of 1,142 meters above sea level, making it the highest elevated golf course in Indonesia. The cool refreshing climate is a far cry from the normal expectations on Bali’s hot sandy beaches and warm climate that exists on other coastal golf courses in Bali. This unique characteristic of the golf resort affords golfers the opportunity to enjoy a pleasantly comfortable round of golf in the year round coolness of the fresh mountain air which ranges from 14 to 24 Celsius.

Nestled inside the crater of an extinct volcano, the views afforded by the golf course offer lush green mountains, crater lakes and an equatorial rain forest which surrounds Bali Handara Golf & Country Club Resort and creates amazingly scenic backdrops for tee and approach shots into the well maintained Bent Grass greens. There are also a driving range, practice pitching area and two practice putting greens to warm up on before your round.

Aside from the world-class golf course, the Resort also offers great accommodation and Food & Beverage facilities to compliment your visit to the Resort. There are five types of accommodation consisting of Golf View Bungalows and Villas with Fireplaces, Garden View Cottages and Golf View Deluxe and Suite Rooms.

All of the rooms are designed with a traditional Balinese style with free Wi-Fi Internet access, private bathrooms, adjustable wall mounted heaters (pretty useful from June – August at night), Cable Television, Mini-bars and complimentary Coffee, Tea and Aqua mineral water. The Golf View Deluxe and Suite Rooms are in the hotel building located next to the Clubhouse lobby. The Cottages, Bungalows and Villas are standalone buildings located in the gardens surrounding the Clubhouse and golf course.

Guests who stay at the Resort can enjoy spectacular views across holes #1 & #18 and look out from their terrace or balcony to beautiful sunsets over Lake Buyan, the largest of three volcanic lakes in the area.

For your dining pleasure the Resort offers the Kamandalu Restaurant, Golfer’s Café and Lobby Bar and Golf View Sunset Lounge serving a variety of Indonesian, Asian and Continental cuisine as well as meeting and conference facilities that can cater from 10 to 200 persons.
