This building was purpose built for the Kempsey Visitor Information Centre and Museum. An Aboriginal Art Gallery has since moved into the space which was designed as a theatrette. Macleay Valley Coast Tourism staff and volunteers are available to help with all enquiries on local attractions, accommodation and dining. The South West Rocks Visitor Information Centre is located in Boatmans Cottage No.1, one of a number of buildings which are heritage listed as part of the South West Rocks Pilot Station Complex. Boatmans Cottage No.1 houses a Maritime Museum which is free to visit as well as the South West Rocks Visitor Information Centre.
