Southern Anchorage Retreat is indulgence in the Otways. We have 3 beautiful cottages- the Fiji, the Marie Gabrielle and the Anchor, all three are luxury cottages pampering to the needs of our guests, and yes, they fit the nautical theme which our property is based on. The Fiji and Marie Gabrielle are both named after two local shipwrecks which were grounded just off the Moonlight Head’s area in the 1850s. Both cottages are a couple's perfect romantic getaway or honeymoon escape. The Anchor Cottage is my wife's favourite as it is completely enclosed by trees and the birdlife is amazing. It is the perfect place to bring the family or come as two couples, as the two kings can be split to make four singles, 1 king and two singles or just 2 kings. The interior decorating is very cosy and rustic, while the jacuzzi room is pure luxury- you'll need to experience it! The cottages are well designed, spacious and have all the mod cons to make your stay rejuvenating and relaxing. All cottages blend in with the environment and have stayed true to the bush setting, natural wood and sweeping decks unify them with their natural surrounds. The views are all spectacular and change daily and the jacuzzis are amazing…you’ll want to come back! Need to invigorate yourself or your relationship? We have just the place for you!
Whether you choose to relax in the luxurious spa, enjoy the warmth and romance of the wood heater fires, or simply crash on our comfy king and queen sized beds, we've got just the place for you. Then again you may like to relax on the deck with nature surrounding you, with kangaroos often passing or birdsong gently lulling you... it's impossible not to be swept away by the beauty of the environment of Southern Anchorage. Set amongst a beautiful bush setting, we have views down the Moonlight Head gullies, across sweeping pastures to the majestic and rugged coastline, views which are magnificent to behold. Just a short walk down the road leads to many great attractions such as Moonlight Head Lookout, Wreck Beach or Gables Lookout. Stroll along the beach, rock pool ramble or just be swept away by the beauty of the rugged coastline, memories and snapshots to keep forever.
Picture this… glass of red in hand, mouth watering smells of the barbecue sizzling just off to side, while kookaburras call, crimson rosellas feed and kangaroos graze close by… all it’s missing is you- come and be swept away by beauty of our natural environment, you’ll be amazed!
