The rough times of the WWII, the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 and the Cold War era are now revived with shocking authenticity. The centrally located exhibition displays more than 200 wax figures, original equipment in the former medical facility. You can experience a real time warp in the heart of the Buda Castle. Hospital in the rock is a place where the true cruelty of war appears such as the real heroism, which is to keep humanity under inhuman circumstances.

The Hospital in the Rock awaits its visitors with tour guides and 60-minute long tours. During the tour you can get to know how this facility was built from the natural cave system and our tour guides show the uniqueness of the hospital. We are open every day all year round from 10 am to 8 pm. English guided tours depart every hour on the hour. Last entry is at 7 pm.

The Lovas Street entrance to the hospital is two minutes walk from Matthias Church. The entrance can be found at the foot of the castle wall, on Lovas Street beneath Szentháromság Street / Tóth Árpád Promenade.
