US General Douglas MacArthur, the Supreme Commander of SWPA, established his headquarters in Brisbane between July 1942 and October 1944. The headquarters were located in the AMP Building on the corner of Queen and Edward Street, with MacArthur's office on the 8th floor. The office has been restored to as close as possible to its condition at that time.
