Alcohol History of Hobart Walking Tour
This exciting tour takes you from the very beginnings of alcohol consumption & production in Hobart, from the early colonial days to present day boutique brewing, distilling and wine making in Hobart and Tasmania. The tour includes visits to unique venues where you can taste a range of Tasmanian produced wines, distilled spirits and boutique cider. Tastings are included in the cost.
Hobart History People & Places Walking Tour
Hobart's waterfront was where it all started for Europeans in Tasmania. This tour follows the original and the current waterfront, and a couple of blocks into town. We take in the iconic Henry Jones IXL jam factory, many wonderfully preserved Regency, Georgian and Victorian Heritage buildings, to Australia's only Georgian corner, and on through town to beautiful Salamanca. Historic Battery Point Walking Tour
Soak up the elegance, beauty and history of this quiet and exclusive area that was once farmland known as Cottage Green. This tour includes picturesque Arthur Circus and is full of stories including dubious property dealings by Governor Arthur, the fall of the carousing Reverend Knopwood and the ship building tycoon Alexander MacGregor whose finest of grand Georgian homes still stands today.
Battery Point is best appreciated at a leisurely pace on foot with a guide who can bring to life how wealth flowed into Battery Point from the influx of trade and the British Royal Navy shipping timber, wool and rum from the Salamanca docks and warehouses.
