It is a place to spend hours lost in reverie, knowing that the documents and memorabilia displayed were used by men and women who helped open up vast areas of the inland to settlement and made Echuca of 1860 the most important inland port in Australia.
Wander at leisure through rooms filled with riverboat photographs, records of massive floods, original river charts used by the old skippers and relics of the important saw-milling industry.
Memorabilia from the founders of our twin towns Henry Hopwood and James Maiden both ex-convicts from Lancashire.
Reminders of the Chinese population which flourished in earlier years.
Inspect the primitive goal cells of the former lock up, used until 1969, and peruse scenes of local identities.
