The museum focusses on two parts. The NASA Carnarvon Tracking Station and the OTC Satellite Earth Station, for which each station played separate roles in the early space industry.
Phase One of the museum was opened by former astronaut Buzz Aldrin in June 2012, with the much expanded Phase Two museum opening in September 2014 by Australian born astronaut Dr Andy Thomas. Displays include Projects Mercury, Gemini & Apollo plus OTC plus a 50 seat theatre.
Planning for Phase Three is underway for an expanded exhibition area.
