The volunteer guides of the Basilica offer you different types of visits adjusted to the pilgrim’s preferences. The visits called « découverte » offer you the opportunity to explore the fabulous story of the Basilica, from its construction in the 19th century until now. During this visit, you will discover its walls covered with mosaics, its majestic stained-glass windows and the whole symbolism of its architecture.

Mistery visits: Discover a unique view of the entire World Heritage listed site of Lyons from the roof of the Basilica. You will first go behind the scenes, discovering the hidden places of the church: the big tribune gallery, the architects’ office, the gallery of the angels, the attic. Then you will have access to the big carillon made of 23 bells and finally you will be able to climb up to the St Michael terrace and on top of the observatory tower overlooking the city.
