All 3 are built and maintained around sustainability principles - and celebrate art and design and the Kiwi outdoors. Discover our open spaces, farm fields, birdlife and native trees. Grab a lemon from the organic orchards for your G&T on the deck, or cut open a delicious grapefruit for breakfast. Pop down to the village for seaside cafes, walks and creative arts. Abel Tasman is just 25 minutes away.
Cycling heaven is right here - The Gates have electric and standard bikes for you for the Great Taste Trail. Catch the cycle ferry to Rabbit Island with its beaches and forested cycle tracks. Explore the countryside behind The Gates and cruise amongst wineries, olive groves and farmland with stunning views of the mountains and sea.
Children are welcome – there’s a playground, treehut, chickens and handfeedable sheep - plus lots of places to explore. All are safely fenced. Babysitter list too! Adele and Roger, your hosts, are 4th generation Kiwis and are available for advice.
Welcoming and comfortable, 3 bdrm Corru Gate (sleeps 6) has a zany kitchen, an original Kiwi-flavoured bathroom (bath with shower over), a sunny, open plan lounge/dining area, and French doors opening onto a sun-drenched deck and private designer garden. Fully equipped with mod cons (dishwasher, laundry, microwave, stereo, TV, DVD, telephone line, wifi, BBQ etc), the accommodation features quality furniture (including great beds), and local/NZ art.
4 bdrm Copper Gate (sleeps 8) is a brand-new (Dec 2013) eco-home with state-of-the-art PVs, passive solar design, wool insulation (some from our own sheep!), locally-sourced preservative-free Douglas Fir, and it is designed by award-winning architectural designers Hybrid Homes and Living. It is themed around iconic Kiwi domestic heritage and copper and features NZ and local art.
Pearl and Ruby, our 1967 award-winning retro caravans, are our glamping (luxury camping) site Kissing Gate. With outdoors kitchen/bath/shower/pond/deck and quirky design set amongst trees and fields, this is holiday accommodation with a difference.
