Formerly a gold-mining town, Arrowtown is built on the banks of the Arrow River and boasts a rich history. It is now a sophisticated, multi-cultural town catering to diverse tastes of visitors from all around the globe offering a unique ambiance not found elsewhere in New Zealand. The village packs a punch with fabulous tourist shops, award-winning restaurants, museum, quirky cafes, pubs, boutique cinema, art galleries and Visitor Information Centre. It is also conveniently placed to all major ski fields, only 20 minutes from vibrant Queenstown, surrounded by several world-class golf-courses and the best vineyards in the area. Arrowtown is recognised as the walking and biking centre of the Wakatipu with most of the trails and cycle tracks of the area either starting or finishing in or nearby the town.
Arrowtown Motel Apartments is situated about 10-15 minutes (a leisurely stroll) from the village centre. It offers clean, comfortable and quality self-catering accommodation. It caters for singles, couples, families and corporates. The rooms all come standard with well-equipped kitchenettes (mini fridge, microwave, two-plate hob, electric fry pan, toaster, kettle and crockery/cutlery). All rooms are well-appointed and newly renovated in 2014. Smallest and cheapest option is a studio unit (no separate bedroom!) then 1-bedroom units, family units (queen bed in living area with kids in the bedroom), a 1-bedroom premium (a bit more luxury!) and 2-bedroom units. All units have en-suite bathrooms with shower, toiletries and bathroom linen provided.
