My home is just that – a warm and comfortable house (central heating, double glazing), tastefully furnished with antique furniture and art work, internet access and DVD. The surroundings are stunning with sea views and a vast sweep of forest canopy, territory contested by tui, kaka, kereru and many other native birds.
Three bedrooms – one Single, one Queen, one King/Twin – each with ensuite, are private and guest-friendly, with tea and coffee making facilities, cookies and fresh flowers. A spacious guest lounge offers the relaxation of comfortable armchairs, television, music and a wealth of books, describing Rakiura/Stewart Island. Kaka, our native forest parrots, are frequent visitors to the balconies and deck which encompass the sea and forest views.
My Cairn Terrier, MacPherson, will greet you with exuberance, should you venture into his territory, and together we extend to you “a hundred thousand welcomes”.
