Garden Retreat Bed and Breakfast is situated only 8 km North of Takaka in the fabulous Golden Bay at the top of the South Island of New Zealand.
A two story building with all the guest accommodation on the top floor, there are three large and sunny bedrooms all with lovely views of the gardens. One Queen room has an ensuite and it's own door onto the deck while the other Queen room and twin room are side by side and share a bathroom, although for a little extra charge either of these rooms can be reserved as having a private bathroom.
There is a lovely guest breakfast lounge which also opens out onto the upstairs deck. A perfect place to sit and have a quiet wine or breakfast while watching and/or listening to the many birds,
The breakfast is an extensive homemade continental breakfast which is self-service enabling you to have an early or late start to your day.

Set amongst lush sub-tropical and native gardens with it's own stone and citrus fruit orchard and paddocks of friendly sheep this is a perfect place to relax and plan which of the many activities available to take advantage of. Situated between two major National Parks the choice is vast. Only a short distance from a beautiful swimming and walking beach at Patons Rock or a little further to the world renowned Fare Well Spit and bird colony's or the Heaphy Track and many other walking tracks. There are also many other activities to take advantage off including Kayaking or using the water taxis to explore the beautiful coastline.

Golden Bay is also a treasure trove of very talented artists of all genre so allowing time to make a few well chosen visits to their studios is a must.
