Honeycombe House is an imposing Victorian house situated high on the road above the picturesque 14th century fishing port of Mevagissey, yet only a few minutes walk from the centre of the village. This amazing vantage point gives breathtaking panoramic views of both the outer and inner harbours, green rolling countryside, the village of Mevagissey, and the rugged coastline of St. Austell bay, and as far as the eye can see to the horizon. You will struggle to find a better view in the whole village than the ones enjoyed from here, and arguably this B&B has one of the best views in Cornwall.
All our rooms have double glazed windows and central heating controlled via a thermostat on the radiator, and include a heated towel rail, Digital colour T.V., tea/coffee making facilities, and also a hairdryer and clock radio. Wi- Fi Internet access is available throughout the guest areas of the house. Two of our Double rooms also have the luxury of a balcony overlooking the harbour and bay.
Our breakfast dining room has a fabulous 180 degree panoramic view and from your breakfast table you can follow the dramatic coastline stretching from Mevagissey across to Gribbin Head, and as far as Rame Head, which is over 25 miles away. On a clear day you can just about spot Eddystone Lighthouse on the far horizon located a further 9 miles south west of Rame Head.
Whatever the weather, the view is constantly changing, and there is always something to see, as both harbours are a hive of activity with fishing and pleasure boats constantly coming and going. You may even be lucky enough to spot seals, basking sharks or dolphins from the comfort of your breakfast table.
The B&B is ideally situated to visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan, a couple of minutes away by car, or the Eden Project which is only 9 miles away, and the National Maritime Museum at Falmouth is only 30 miles away.
Mevagissey is an ideal base from which to explore the numerous delights of Cornwall.
You may even prefer to find a nearby beach or stroll along the South West Coast Path which passes the house. A section of the National Cycle Network runs in front of Honeycombe House, and we have secure storage for bikes.
