The Cathedral's amazing mixture of architectural styles bears witness to the many centuries of its life and the building even contains Roman bricks from Verulamium, skilfully recycled by the Normans.

Of special interest are the stunning 13th century wall paintings, a rare watching loft, the shrines of St Alban and Amphibalus, the great Norman tower and the longest nave in England.
