Handel House Museum at 25 Brook Street, London was home to the great baroque composer George Frideric Handel from 1723 until his death in 1759. The only composer museum in London, this landmark address is where Handel composed some of the greatest music in history, including 'Messiah', 'Zadok the Priest' and 'Music for the Royal Fireworks'.
The museum celebrates Handel's life and works, displaying portraits of Handel and his contemporaries in finely restored Georgian interiors and by bringing live music back to his house. Frequent music rehearsals, weekly concerts, Saturday Talks and regular exhibitions bring Handel's world to life.
Building work is currently taking place at Handel House and the museum will remain open throughout the works. The entrance will move to the front at No.25 Brook Street and there will be no lift access for about six months from Monday 27 April 2015 and visitors will have to use the staircases. We advise visitors to call 020 7495 1685 so we can best accommodate your needs.
