The Hall is a member of the Treasure Houses group which consists of ten of the most magnificent palaces, houses and castles in England today. Each has its own unique charm and all combine together to give a fascinating insight into life in England over the centuries.
Adjacent to the hall, the original stable block houses the Bygones Museum with over 4,000 items of domestic and agricultural memorabilia and a dedicated display highlights the role of the 1st Earl (of the 2nd creation), the famous Coke of Norfolk, in the great Agricultural Revolution of the 18th century. To the west are the walled gardens; 6½ acres of gardens originally laid out by Samuel Wyatt during the late 1700s. The gardens are part of a restoration project to sensitively restore them to their former glory. Visitors are invited to see how the work is progressing.
There is a gift shop offering souvenirs and crafts made by skilled local artisans, a café where you can enjoy delicious local produce, cycle and boat hire, an exciting woodland adventure play area for children and a varied programme of events for all ages. Outside of the park lies Holkham Beach and National Nature Reserve, one of the most unspoilt and beautiful stretches of sand in the country.
