One of the premier Charter Boats offering Wreck, Reef & Charter Angling Trips from the picturesque Port of Whitby.
The Skipper, Jon Whitton tells us about himself & Never Can Tell – A:
Never Can Tell-A is a Whitby built traditional fishing vessel 10 metres in length with a forward wheelhouse. She is of clinker construction from larch planking on heavy oak frames with a completely flush sealed deck 23 feet long.
The wheelhouse is offset which allows anglers to fish along the full length of the vessel. More space = less tangles and more fishing time. There is more usable deck space on this boat than any other Whitby charter boat of this length and more than on some longer vessels.
The traditional hull design results in a very safe, stable and comfortable fishing platform. There is seating for 12 anglers and the new wheelhouse is equipped with a ladies toilet.
It is also fitted with state of the art electronics. An onboard computer continuously plots the sea bed producing 3-D images of wrecks and underwater structure. This is the only angling boat in Whitby to have such a sophisticated system. Three GPS receivers with differential correction facility produce better than 1 metre accuracy, a Koden professional colour fish finder capable of locating individual fish helps to put fish in the boat and a Koden radar and Robertson automatic pilot help navigation in difficult conditions. The radar, GPS and pilot are all interfaced together.
