The rent varies to reflect this. Let from Saturday to Saturday they are mostly booked some months ahead so it is important to look at the calendar on the web-site before enquiring. They are both centrally situated not far from the Cuillin hills and are ideal as a base for walking, climbing, bicycling and exploring the island. They have a telephone and free WIFI but for full details look at our web site.
The Old School House stands by itself and was built as such after the education act of 1872.. The large ex-schoolroom with table tennis, darts and old furniture is wonderful for evenings or wet days. A short walk down a fairly steep hill takes you past the Oyster shed (selling all sorts of delicacies not just oysters) and the Talisker distillery to the village of Carbost. This has a small shop, Post Office and pub all of which are excellent.
Allt Dearg (pronounced Jerak) is in a unique and isolated position close to the Cuillins yet is only half a mile from the Sligachan Hotel. It has featured in a number of adverts.
