Highland Park House is a fabulous Victorian/gothic mansion on the edge of Kirkwall offering bed and breakfast type accommodation. The building is almost like a castle and has a unique atmosphere, containing a gallery, a beautiful music room which doubles as a guest lounge.. We have a selection of double and single rooms, some with en suites (and some without but priced accordingly). Each bed and breakfast room is carefully appointed with period style furniture and original artwork. Our breakfasts, which are made individually to order are acquiring a great reputation with the freshly made juice proving particularly popular.

The house is near to the famous Highland Park Distillery with its visitor centre. Kirkwall town centre with its cathedral, shops, bars and restaurants is close by. The house is an excellent central hub from which to explore the rest of Orkney. The airport is a few minutes drive away and we are on one of the island's major bus routes, making links to the ferry terminals easy.

Highland Park House is in a quiet location with plenty of trees around the house (unusual for Orkney). There is ample free, private parking in the grounds. There are paths leading into the fields beyond and the sheltered, sandy Scapa beach is about a mile away. The Ring of Brodgar is about twenty minutes drive and Skara Brae not more than fifteen minutes beyond that
