From Wild Walks to Woollen Mills, from Golf courses to Gastronomy, there is so much to discover about the beautiful border country of Scotland.
Tweedswood marks Country Retreats's first foray over the border from Northumberland and we are delighted to include this taste of Scotland in the collection. Tweedswood, named after its surrounding river and woodland, and the nearby salmon fishing beat, is everything you could imagine of a traditional Borders holiday cottage, and more. Off the beaten track, in the small tranquil hamlet of Redpath, around 4 miles from Melrose, you are greeted by its distinctive white painted stone exterior set against a backdrop of rolling green hills. Semi-detached, but very private, the cottage has a large lawned garden - safe for children but also a delightful haven for adults - with views to the hills beyond.
Internally, the 2013 renovation has been executed with great care and appreciation for the building's heritage, preserving original features where possible and all around the building are quirky echoes of different stages of its 200 year history. With a cosy logburner for the chillier months and a host of fine furnishings and tasteful decor, this retreat will appeal to couples or families alike.
