Come and experience a magical Welsh holiday in our delightful cottage set on the edge of Brechfa Forest. Perfect for cyclists and nature lovers; we offer a peaceful rural retreat in the historical rural county of Carmarthenshire. Ideal for a truly Welsh experience.
Bryn Marlais Cottage is situated on the edge of Brechfa Forest and surrounded by the tranquil countryside of the magical, historical county of Carmarthenshire, West Wales. Dating from the 18th century, the cottage is a self-contained semi-detached holiday home which offers comfortable accommodation comprising a lounge/diner, kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor and one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a cloakroom on the first floor. The cottage retains many of its original features, whilst at the same time providing modern day comforts with recently installed oil central heating, a new fitted bathroom and upstairs cloakroom. Original stone walls and exposed beams feature throughout the cottage.
We have 9 acres of grounds, which you are welcome to explore but please take care. There is a bird feeder outside the window of the cottage kitchen which is popular with all the usual garden birds and the rarer woodpecker, nuthatches and goldfinches which delight us with their visits - and the naughty squirrels! Buzzards and red kites can be seen soaring high in the valley and around the cottage. You may even catch a glimpse of a goshawk, arch enemy of the local chickens!
