Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park is stunningly located on a scenic headland, overlooking the nature reserve of Cardigan Island, which is just 200 yards off-shore, so it can be clearly viewed from the Park. Cardigan Island is home to thousands of nesting sea-birds, and during spring the island is often covered in swathes of wild flowers, particularly bluebells. A colony of Atlantic grey seals breed in the many caves below the Farm Park cliffs and can be seen virtually every day. Cardigan Bay's bottlenose dolphins are also frequent visitors to the waters surrounding the Park, particularly during warm and calm weather, when they swim closer to the shore. They can be viewed clearly from the Park.
We have a variety of friendly farm animals for visitors to view and feed including rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, sheep, goats, Kune Kune and Mangalitzer pigs, cows, Shetland and Welsh Mountain ponies, and Dilwyn the donkey. There is also Llinos the Llama and Bruce the Emu from far-off lands. The Visitor Centre features a lovely cafe serving meals and drinks, with a focus on Welsh-sourced ingredients, which can be enjoyed either indoors or on the large patio to make the most of the glorious scenery. There is an out-door adventure playground and sand-pit for children to enjoy as well as some indoor games and a new construction corner with blocks for children to build with. We also have a well-stocked gift shop.
Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park is open 10am until 6pm every day in 2015 from the 23rd March until the 31st October. We also offer camping and caravanning for those who wish to stay longer, details can be found on our website.
