Beacon Park Boats is a family-run business offering luxury narrowboat holidays on the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal in the Brecon Beacons National Park, South Wales. Alasdair and Sarah Kirkpatrick run every aspect of the business from their private wharf at Llanfoist, just outside Abergavenny. They are not a typical boat hire company. They set out to be different right from the start. In Beacon Park Boats they combine their love of design, craftsmanship, boating, engineering and hospitality to give you the very best in canal boat holiday experiences.
They have 13 highly individual luxury canal boats sleeping from 2 to 7 people. They offer all-inclusive flexible holidays so there are no hidden extras and you can choose both start day and duration of your narrowboat holiday. But perhaps the hardest task is to choose a boat; with such features as an on-deck hot tub, bow thrusters, log burners, home cinema and four-poster beds it’s not easy!
All of their boats have been awarded the coveted 5 stars from Visit Britain but what’s on board is not the whole story. Quite simply they aim to provide you with the best narrowboats and the highest level of service you’ll find on any of Britain’s Waterways. The same 5-star standards apply if you book their self-catering canal side cottage for your holiday.
Situated on their private wharf just outside Abergavenny, these two wonderful cottages (one Grade II-listed) were originally the home and office of the wharfinger – the man who managed the busy wharf. These detached self-catering cottages, set in 30 acres of broad-leaf woodland on the side of the Blorenge mountain, are located in both the Brecon Beacons National Park and Blaenavon World Heritage Site.
