The Nags Head Inn is steeped in all the history you might expect of a rural treasure. Originally known as The Nags Head Hotel, it was formerly a coaching inn for passing trade along the main trunk road from north to south Wales and has always been a destination on the Montgomery Canal.
This is the first opening by Wrexham born chef Bryn Evans, who is renowned for his award winning cooking at some of the best hotels and restaurants in Manchester, including the Michelin starred Juniper restaurant, Obsidian restaurant and Michael Caines' Abode Hotel. Bryn grew up in Caergwle and Abergele in North Wales and began his cooking career at the five star Chester Grosvenor Hotel, later moving through the kitchens of the Michelin starred Devonshire Arms, North Yorkshire, Bodysgallen Hall, Llandudno and Harvey Nicholls in Manchester.
Bryn’s approach to using only the freshest ingredients harvested by local food heroes is a top priority, and producing the best quality casual food with an influence on Welsh dishes. Enjoy regional award winning Cask Ales, Welsh wines and spirits that make an appearance on the list specially chosen by leading wine experts. All of this in a wonderfully relaxing environment for eating out - with al fresco dining in the summer and crackling logs fires in the winter.
