Crested Butte Nordic is located right in the heart of town and Crested Butte Mountain Resort is just three miles north. During the changing seasons make sure to catch Vinotok in the fall or Flaushink in the spring. Bottom line is, the people of Crested Butte have a joy for life... and it shows!
Named to the Top 12 Small-Town ArtPlaces in America in 2013, the town is host to the six-week Crested Butte Music Festival, free outdoor Alpenglow concerts, ArtWalk evenings, Crested Butte Arts Festival and so much more. Center for the Arts Crested Butte offers a year-round schedule of performances, classes, and art exhibitions.
Designated the “Wildflower Capital of Colorado” by the Colorado State Legislature in 1990, visitors witness nature’s explosion of color amid lush landscapes during the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival. Be sure to bring your camera!
Biking is a way of life here, whether riding on skinny tires, fat tires or a bike with one gear. Crested Butte is one of the birthplaces of mountain biking, and Crested Butte Bike Week not only is the oldest mountain biking festival in the world it now celebrates all types of biking. Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Butte is host to the 2014 USA Pro Cycling Challenge for a third year, showcasing its die-hard passion for cycling.
After a day of exploring the outdoors on bike, foot or horseback, whet your appetite with endless culinary delights!
