If it's the outdoors you've come to see, head to Monadnock State Park, several thousand acres of protected highlands surrounding the 3,165-foot Mount Monadnock. Don't forget to scale the mountain itself—Monadnock's peak offers climbers 100-mile views in every direction, and it is believed to be the world's second-most climbed mountain after Mount Fuji.Or you can hike the Ashuelot Rail Trails and keep an eye out for moose and birds. In the winter both cross country and downhill can be found at Granite Gorge, just 15 min from the Inn.
