The Nolichucky Gorge is one of the most adventurous and scenic rivers in the entire Southeast. On your journey down the Nolichucky, you will be engulfed in the deepest gorge east of the Mississippi River. You will be surrounded on one side by a black bear habitat and National Forest on the other. The Nolichucky Gorge has over 25 named rapids ranging from class II-IV along the pristine 9 mile journey. USA Raft offers a full day trip, half day trip, and overnight trip on this section of river.
The lower Nolichucky River offers calmer rafting with mellow rapids and is a perfect family adventure. With endless opportunities to swim, play, and enjoy beautiful scenery, the Lower Nolichucky is perfect for a relaxing afternoon outdoors.
USA Raft also offers caving trips for those who are looking for a unique “indoor” outdoor activity. USA Raft is the leading caving and spelunking adventure company for Worley’s Cave. Worley’s cave is conveniently located ½ an hour from Johnson City, TN and 45 minutes from our Nolichucky River location. USA Raft will provide you with all the needed equipment and no prior experience is necessary. The cave is completely natural and active so be prepared to get muddy and wet!
To complete your visit with USA Raft, stay a night in our Crockett Cabin. The Crockett Cabin is a rustic bunkhouse located right on the river at our Nolichucky River location in Erwin, TN. The cabin is perfect for families as well as large groups. During your stay in the Crockett Cabin, feel free to fish in our stocked trout pond, play on our sand volleyball court, swim, play bean bag toss, or just relax down by the river. The Appalachian Trail is also located right at the edge of our property so if hiking is what you’re looking for, we have it!
