We believe we offer a unique experience to everyone who visits Great River Outfitters and the Path of Life Garden at Artisan Park in Windsor VT. The Path of Life Garden is open year round for self-guided walking tours. It is a gentle walk that does allow for strollers, most wheel chairs and most assisted walking devices. The Garden is 14 acres in size with 18 pieces of art, each representing a time frame in a person's life. You can plan to spend the day here visiting all the businesses in Artisan Park, seeing all we have to offer.
During the Winter our activities are 45 minute dog sled tours starting at the Path of Life Garden, through adjacent fields and woods, following the Connecticut River and circling back to us. We also offer snow shoe rentals daily, through the Path of Life Garden and Trails, and Tipi Camping - offered year round - for an extraordinary experience that will take you back to another time. The Horse Drawn Sleigh/ Carriage ride is a beautiful scenic tour of the Connecticut River Valley on local farm lands, giving you the New England feel you expect, with a complimentary cup of hot cocoa to keep you warm on these cold winter days.
Our most popular Summer River Trip is a 2-3 hour self-guided kayak, canoe, raft, or river tubing tour down one of the most pristine areas on the Connecticut River, ending at our location at the Path of Life Garden. You will enjoy paddling 4 miles of this gentle section of the river with excellent fishing spots and busy wild life on it's banks, so bring your camera you may see the bald eagles, beaver. ducks, loons or even a moose.
