Described as ‘absolute bliss’ and ‘wonderfully peaceful’ by previous guests, our Character Farm Cottages offer true tranquillity near the village of Abbotsbury, a short drive from the seaside town of Weymouth and within walking distance of the stunning Jurassic Coast. We have seven self-catering cottages in total situated on our beautiful and extensive working dairy farm where we provide a wholesome family holiday experience rare in modern times. Our cottages are affordable but well-maintained and our service and hospitality are exceptional, described as ‘friendly and helpful’ with a ‘warm welcome’. Our English country cottages are available for weekly holidays all year and for off-season short breaks. The properties are near some of Dorset’s most spectacular attractions and only a mile from Chesil Beach which can be seen from most of the farm.
You’re welcome to spend your entire stay here on site, enjoying the fresh air and the calming environment only a true English farm holiday can provide, though many of our guests spend their days exploring the local area. The Abbotsbury Swannery is an impressive attraction not to be missed and the subtropical gardens are guaranteed to be a hit with Grandma. Your children and dogs can enjoy days on the safe, clean sandy beaches of Weymouth and the whole family can bond over a slow stroll along a coastal footpath, cameras in hand.
Our seven cottages accommodate between two and nine people making them suitable for a group get-together or a secluded romantic break. Whilst only 5 miles to the west of Weymouth we are very nicely secluded on the coast just a stones throw from the Fleet. On site we also offer a communal Old Stable complete with table tennis, table football, shared laundry and wireless internet facilities and with books and games for a quiet day on the farm.
