Historic Lyme Regis has plenty to offer all age groups, whatever time of year you choose to visit. Sitting on the Dorset/Devon border it also makes a good base for day trips further afield.
The town is best known for The Cobb, but there is also a museum, theatre, cinema, town mill and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs. This part of the coast has recently become a World Heritage Site with magnificent beaches for fossil collecting, swimming, boat trips, diving, sailing, surfing and fishing. With golf, bowling and horse riding also available you won’t be bored!
Throughout the year there is a Fossil Festival (May), Classic Motor Cycle Rally (June), Jazz Festival (July), Lifeboat Week (July), Marine Week (August), Regatta & Carnival Week (August), Arts Fest (September), Christmas Lights (December) and firework displays in the summer months and in November and at New Year.
