A refuge from the stresses of modern life, Lantern Cottage will take you back in time to the cosiness of an open fire, exposed beams, antiques and curtains drawn against the cold - but with 21st century amenities, including a washer dryer, dishwasher, oven, hob and built-in microwave and, of course, gas-fired central heating. On summer days, you can sunbathe in our pretty walled garden with its lawn and flower-filled borders, or eat on the patio as the fountain plays nearby.
The bright and airy living room with its inglenook fireplace and woodburner (plenty of logs in the shed included in the price) has a comfy sofa and chairs, and a small dining table - perfect for candle-lit suppers. Failing that, there's a TV, DVD player, DVDs and CDs.
Upstairs, there's a sunny bedroom overlooking the garden, with a double bed piled with feather and down pillows and duvet (synthetics available, if you prefer) - and plenty of storage space. Next door is a study with an antique desk, ideal for your laptop and a bookcase brimming over paperbacks and the odd hardback. An easy chair with a table for your glass of wine and a lamp to cast its flattering light, is my favourite spot for reading or checking my emails (free WiFi).
And don't worry too much about food when you arrive, as you will find fresh and instant coffee, three types of tea, sugar, rices, pastas, spices, condiments and even a few tins in our cupboards. There's also milk in the fridge, a big jar of biscuits and just a few chocolates.
You'll have a great time!
